Another long scenic drive up and down and around hairpin bends. Constantly amazing . We passed an area where the houses were in amongst the most amazing landscape covered in black volcanic bolders (rocks)huge, big and small. It looked like a sci-fi movie set. Regret not getting a pic.

Have you ever wondered where all those nice
bluey greeny rocks come from. It seems to be all happening along the road into Ende. All sorted into size and colour then into bags along the road.
Maumere is the largest town in Flores with Ende being the second. Neither looked much more bigger or busier than Fremantle. Pleasant clean and colourful, with men and women wearing traditional sarongs and in sometime a head dress.

We bought some cashews at Maumere airport they were divine. Sumbawa had nice cashews but Flores ...wow

Maumere, actually we stayed 2 nights out of Maumere at Waiara, Sea World Club was so nice we let Sipriano go a day early, he was happy to get back home and we just stayed around the hotel (no car travel hurray). This is a really nice place right on the beach. Any good snorkelling is a short boat trip over to the islands just out from the hotel. Swimming at the hotel beach is OK. Best thing is fishing activity on the beach, gorgeous rooms and walking around the village back toward and along the road.

Time to go home, we could have stayed longer and traveled onto Larantuka, well there'sd the plan for next year. Got to Makassar and out again to Denpassar no problem. Only had to spend 12 hrs in Kuta.
